Outsourcing content creation for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, etc. is a huge business decision for some brands and we completely understand that it is not for everyone.
If you have been thinking about outsourcing content creation for your brand for a while but have not come to a conclusion yet, this article is aimed to help you make a decision fast. Here are four reasons to outsource content creation or specific considerations you need to be aware of.

Inconsistency in posting frequency.
Being active online is crucial when it comes to organic content to maintain audience engagement, boost reach, and constantly stay visible, as activeness on these platforms like Instagram and TikTok signals the algorithm that your account is "alive" and can help to organically spread your content out to more people (reach).
Contrary to what some people might tell you, you don't necessarily need to post every day, but generally the more you post, the better.
New to content creation? Having one post per week is a good starting point.
Been doing this for a while? Challenge yourself to post two to three times a week.
Not seeing the results you are looking for? Do more than that and aim for a post every single day.
If you see yourself posting infrequently or have trouble hitting your posting targets, it is definitely time to outsource.
Resource constraints.
This can be time, money and even energy.
Content creation can be costly especially if you need to train an in-house staff from the ground up. It might be alright at the beginning but if you're looking for specialised skill-sets like retention-focused video editing, long form documentary style video editing, SEO or social media metrics reading, it could be much better to outsource in the long run.
Another thing to consider is some businesses that are not in the creative field, could benefit if their staff does the actual work that runs the business, rather than creative work, as it is a better use of in-house resources.
Take into account that you very likely need to invest in equipment, new staff, new space, etc. overtime to improve your content if you plan to take social media content seriously for your brand.
Constraints in scaling.
Here's what scaling can mean when it comes to content creation for your brand or business:
Repurposing content.
One of the most effective ways to scale your content is through repurposing existing material.
This might include transforming blog posts into infographics, videos, social media posts or taking a long form video and chopping it up into bite-sized pieces.
Repurposing is great because you can maximize the value of your content. This not only saves time and resources, but it also diversifies the content format, making it more engaging for different audience segments.
Expanding to different platforms.
You should consider adapting your content strategy to include a mix of social media platforms. By tailoring content to fit the specific characteristics of each platform, brands can enhance their visibility and connect with a wider audience.
Little Red Book (Xiao Hong Shu) is getting widely popular among the food space.
Long form content.
While short, digestible content has its place, long-form content can provide depth and value that captures attention. In-depth articles, white papers, or eBooks can position your brand as a thought leader in your industry. These formats encourage extensive engagement and can contribute significantly to SEO, driving organic traffic and building authority.
Podcast-style content.
Podcasts have surged in popularity, offering brands a unique way to connect with their audience through storytelling and conversation. Creating a podcast allows for deeper discussions on industry topics while building a loyal listener base. This format also fosters a sense of community, encouraging audience interaction and feedback.
User-Generated Content (UGC)
UGC refers to created and shared by everyday users or customers rather than by brands or companies. This is perfect for product reviews and it's something we do for our clients too.
By allowing customers to share their experiences and insights, brands can not only save on content creation costs but also enhance authenticity and trust with potential customers. Some people might rather watch a real customer speaking on camera rather than a company.
Stuck with ideas.
Depending on the type of team you have, stagnation of ideas is quite common if you are not directly in the creative industry or do creative work.
Here are reasons why:
Your team is too familiar with your brand: Internal teams may become too familiar with the product or service you provide, leading to repetitive ideas and a limited creative outlook.
Your team is being constraint: Limited time, budget, or human resources can hinder the ability to brainstorm and produce diverse content consistently. It takes time to research ideas.
Your team is overwhelmed with options: The vast array of content formats and platforms in 2025 and moving forward can be too much to take in, making it difficult to narrow down ideas that resonate with your target audience.
Your team is burnt out: Internal team members, especially those wearing multiple hats, may experience burnout, which negatively impacts creativity and productivity.
